DEMO Africa innovation tours took to Central Africa seeing Cameroon, Douala start-ups embracing the opportunity and showing up in numbers to pitch. The event was held at ActivSpaces who have been actively involved in the planning of the tour as partners of DEMO Africa. Vibrant start-up teams Zuoix, Dikorah and MooExams were proclaimed winners of the Douala tour after an astonishing event.

Zuiox is an Offensive Information Security Company that creates experiences that transforms brands, grows businesses and make people’s lives better. They offer information security which helps different stakeholders stay safe online but predicting and taking action against cyber-attacks. 

Dikorah is an events management application that organizes events whatever one’s budget is and location in the world. MooExams is an e-learning application which facilitates access to outstanding educational content quality in a new and attractive setting. Its fun and interactive content give access to a directory of condensed courses, questions and answers.

9 start-ups all came geared up to pitch and stand a chance to represent Cameroon at the regional level. Ready to discover innovative talent from Cameroon the judges Joseph Abena, Eric Niat, Peter Ndichu, Ntamack Serge and Pamela Happi selected Zuoix, Dikorah and MooExams based on the products innovativeness.

The judges also believed that the winning teams provided solutions to immediate problems faced by Cameroonians and by extension Africans. The other start-ups that participated included Mosa, Digital, VEhSEh, ASATA, Best and AMZILL.

“ActivSpaces remains grateful to Demo Africa for giving Cameroonian Startups the platform to showcase their innovations. The so many benefits the competition brings will boost the growth of technological innovation of our country,” commented Steve Tchoumba of ActivSpaces.

The three selected start-ups will see their innovations competing for a chance to represent the Central African region in Morocco at the launch event to be held in Morocco on the 18th and 19th of October. The successful startups in each region automatically qualify to be part of the pool of 30 where the successful Startups will be provided with resources worth over US$150,000 including US$120,000 software tools from Microsoft and USD$15 000 from AWS that to help them build and grow their businesses.
