Startup World Cup, a global startup pitch competition with a $1,000,000 grand prize, returns for a third year searching for the next world champion amongst the top startups from around the globe.
Thousands of startups from all around the world applied to the 2018 competition. Winners from 28 regional events across six continents pitched their startups at the Grand Finale in San Francisco in May 2018.
Leuko Labs from Boston took home the trophy with the $1,000,000 investment prize. Second place went to Flitto from South Korea, and third place was a tie between Strap from Mexico and Wallbox from Spain.
Startups interested in global exposure, mentorship from global investors, and a potential prize are encouraged to apply for any of the Startup World Cup 2019 regional competitions at http://www.startupworldcup.io/applynow.

As part of your registration process, applicants are required to share the status of their registration through this social media link. E.g. “Our team just applied to @SWC2019 #StartupWorldCup #”YourCompanyName” The registration is confirmed once the SWC2019 Twitter Account has favorited your post on Twitter.

The finalists will be selected based partially on the number of tweets (30%) and partially by the judging committee (70%). In order to get more social media points, you must hashtag both #StartupWorldCup and #YourCompanyName. Friends of the company can also tweet with those 2 hashtags to build towards your companies points.
