Flat6Labs, Cairo was glad to partner with DEMO Africa in making the Cairo tour a success. The tour was the last of North Africa and team Chefaa secured themselves a spot at the regional semi-finals. Chefaa is a vision-driven company that facilitates patient’s journey to order/schedule & have medicine delivered in just 3 clicks.
The Cairo chapter saw 10 enthusiastic startups competing against each other. The distinguished judges for the event were Khalid Machchate of DEMO Africa, Moustafa Khater, Managing Director Flat6Labs, Ibrahim Ramadan, Associate Sawari Ventures, Ahmed Tohamy, Former CTO RiseUp, Norhan Sakkout, Senior Associate Limevest and Hanzada AbouYoussef, Senior Associate Ahead of the Curve.
Team Chefaa were pronounced winners on the second round from five teams that had been selected. The other teams that made it to top five included 7aweshny, TriggerIt, Niotek and MedMisr.
“Chefaa helps locate medicine in a click by our real-time search engine. In addition to our CSR platform to match donations & help the less fortunate get their medicine. Our services extend to non-pharmaceuticals via our e-commerce platform. We charge a monthly subscription fee for monthly packages & commission fee on transactions via our app,” commented Doaa Aref team leader of Chefaa.
The Northern African winners Moldaig, Toufoula Kids and Chefaa all proceed to Morocco for the pan-African finals. The successful startups in each region automatically qualify to be part of the pool of 30 where the successful startup/s will be provided with resources worth over US$150,000 including US$120,000 software tools from Microsoft and USD$15 000 from AWS that to help them build and grow their businesses.
