The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), a private-sector funded organisation has opened applications for the NES #24 Startups Pitching Event to be held at the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja. The event aims to connect new ventures seeking to raise funds with potential investors.
During the event, 8 selected startups will pitch in front of venture capitalists and investors. Each startup will have 5 minutes to pitch to prospective investors and 10 minutes to answer questions from them.
Submission of applications for the event opens on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, and it is organized in partnership with the Lagos Angel Network (LAN).
Eligibility
Applications will be open to businesses:
1. Registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and doing business for no more than five (5) years; and
2. Engaged in any sector of the economy (agriculture, education, health, ICT, manufacturing, renewable energy and transport, etc.)
Application Requirements
1. CAC Certificate of Incorporation
2. Summary Business Plan (not more than 3 pages)
3. Pitch Deck
The application process will end on August 31, 2018, and successful startups will be announced on October 5, 2018. They will be invited to pitch at the event on October 21, 2018, to a group of investors at the Trancorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. Eligible ventures must be in the early customer/revenue stage. Prototype or concept stage ventures will not be considered. This year’s event sponsors include Sterling Bank PLC, Accenture and Ventures Platform.
