Nigerian Startups–Arone, Gerocare, and Afagreen have emerged winners of the Slush Global Impact Accelerator after a 4-week local accelerator programme from August 6-31 at Heartland Hub, which it culminated in a pitch day event. The three startups beat 9 others to emerge winners and would be making an all expense paid trip to participate in the Slush Global Impact Accelerator in Helsinki, Finland in November.
The fifteen shortlisted startups that participated in the finals were selected from a pool of over 160 applications received.
The judges who selected the winners after a painstaking pitching session include Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata of CFAtech; Teri Joseph, SDG expert; and Nnamdi Anika, MD of Genesys Hub.
The winning startups would now focus their attention on the main Slush event and Bootcamp which is targeted at impact-driven entrepreneurs from emerging markets like Nigeria to help them accelerate their businesses, attract additional financing and build long-lasting networks. The event will hold from November 27th – December 6th, 2018.
