MEST Africa has launched application for the second annual MEST Africa Challenge, a Pan-African pitch competition for startups based in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire; who are ready to expand into new markets.
This year’s finalists from each country will attend the MEST Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, June 10-12, 2019, where they will once again compete on a global stage for up to $50k in equity investment and the opportunity to join the Pan-African MEST incubator community.
Last year, Accounteer was declared the winner of the Challenge taking home the grand prize of US$50,000 equity investment. The other 3 regional winners are Ghana’s Cowtribe, Kenya’s Data Integrated, and South Africa’s Swift Vee.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this competition, you must be a revenue-generating startup, Ready to scale into additional markets, Part of a team with at least 10 people, Seeking funding

Submit your company for the MEST Africa Challenge! Country winners from each region will be flown to the finals at the MEST Africa Summit in Nairobi to compete for up to $50,000 in equity investment and a range of other support to accelerate their Pan-African scale-up.

Top companies in each region will be invited to pitch at regional events, to be held on the following dates, at MEST Incubator locations or local partners office:
Accra: Wednesday, February 27

Cape Town: Thursday, February 28
Abidjan: Thursday, February 28
Applications
Applications for this year’s Challenge will be open from January 14th – February 15th, 2019. If you are a post-revenue tech business, in any vertical, which can show why you should be taken seriously as a leader in your space, you are encouraged to apply.
