Esusu Africa, a financial management platform, has emerged winner of the Nigeria final of DataHack4Fi Innovation Competition Season 3 held recently at Co-Creation Hub.

Esusu Africa received $5,000 in seed capital for the win and will represent Nigeria at the DataHack4Fi grand finale in August in Rwanda.

The fintech startup pitched alongside 6 other Nigerian startups including ProximateAGRO, Credit Bank, Gr8fingaz, Prof International Network, Databanter and Comestibles.

Esusu Africa, which was founded by AbdulAzeez Oguntoyinbo in 2017, is a fintech startup aimed at solving the problems of traditional and manual savings schemes across the African continent through digitization thereby enhancing the delivery of digital financial services to the last mile.

Esusu Africa will be joined in Rwanda by runners-up Credit Bank. Credit Bank creates an alternative way of banking by bringing financial services to the doorstep of the unbanked and the underbanked neglecting the physical structures while presenting a simpler and secure process using technology.

Both startups (Esusu Africa & Credit Bank) will now compete against other country final winners from Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia for the chance to win $25,000 in seed capital.

The DataHack4FI Innovation Competition promotes the use of data and data analytics to solve challenges experienced by individuals or communities. The competition encourages Pan-African collaboration by creating opportunities for data enthusiasts and emerging tech companies to partner in developing solutions that address local financial and economic inclusion-related challenges.
