Agritech startups have emerged winners in the Startup Nigeria 2019 Demo Day powered by Ventures Platform. Three startups, one from North West, North Central, and South East geopolitical zones were selected as winners. They are Agriple (North West), KadaFoods (North Central) and KR Foods (South East)
Startup Nigeria is a 3-month Incubation Program designed to support innovative idea-staged companies across Nigeria with funding, mentorship, and training. The curriculum is specifically designed to move companies from ideas to viable products/services.
The Startup Nigeria Program gives founders the needed leverage to excel with our specially designed curriculum to help idea and early-stage entrepreneurs find their footing and grow in Nigeria’s socio-economic terrain.
For the North Central demo day which was held at Ventures Platform Foundation in Abuja, Agriple, an online platform developed to directly connect farmers with consumers and off-takes to reduce farm to fork time, increase wealth, and reduce food waste. The agritech startup was co-founded this year by Vincent Okeke.
For the North West Demo Day, it was held at CoLab in Kaduna and KadaFoods, a startup reducing post-harvest losses and maximizing profit for farmers emerged the winner! The startup created a system to process fruits and vegetables by drying them thereby enabling them to last longer and be available in off-seasons.
The Demo day for South East took place in Abia state at Innovation Growth Hub and Kernelincs Resources, an integrated palm oil processing company won the grand prize! The startup was founded by Kingsley Amajuoyi.
