Hello Tractor from Nigeria and BuuPass from Kenya have been named winners of Bosch Africa Smart Mobility Startup Competition recently held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Both mobility startups were each rewarded with a cash prize of $15,000.
In total 11 startups selected from 222 applications from all over Africa, pitched their innovative smart mobility ideas at the Bosch Demo Day 2019. The startups are:

6.) Mobility

8.) Dronamics
9.) Bonang.ai
10.) Bwala
11.) Motilix
Hello Tractor is a startup that connects tractor owners and farmers bringing profits and productivity to African small-hold farming communities while BuuPass uses its online and USSD booking platform for long-distance journeys across buses, trains and flights.
The winners of the Bosch Africa Smart Mobility Startup Competition will also get possible support on technology and product design, access data and analytics sets, accessing Bosch’s wide network of customers, pilot and test with Smart Mobility teams and more.
Commenting on the reason for organising the Bosch Africa Smart Mobility Startup Competition Yves Nono, Vice President – Mobility Solutions, Sales Region Africa at Robert Bosch Ltd, said: “This exciting initiative enables us to showcase Smart Mobility innovation across Africa.
“We are looking forward to selecting and potentially collaborating with businesses that align with Bosch Mobility Solutions’ strategic focus areas so that the company assets could help the start-ups to ramp up the productivity of the business.”
