Afrikrea, an Ivory Coast headquartered startup has $1 million seed funding from Saviu Ventures, Showroomprive.com, the French specialist in online event sales and the ID4 Ventures.
Founded in 2016 by Moulaye Tabouré and Abdoul Kadry, Afrikrea is the leading “Made of Africa” fashion, art and handicraft online marketplace. The marketplace has processed more than $4 million in sales across 101 countries and supports merchants from all over the world.
Afrikrea which claims a community of 300,000 people, relies on its partnership with the logistics company DHL to ensure the distribution of fashion products from African artisans.
Present on the Ivorian market, the online fashion marketplace aims to expand its activities to new African countries in the coming years.
Last year, Afrikrea was named among the top 10 finalists for the Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative (ANPI) held in Accra, Ghana.
The Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative is powered by Jack Ma, the billionaire founder of Alibaba. The ANPI was won by Nigeria’s Lifebank.
