Popular pirate sites, KissAnime and KissManga have been permanently shut down as Japan begins the implementation of stricter piracy laws. This brings to an end nearly a decade of free and pirated content.
The news of the shut down of the pirate sites was officially confirmed by the KissAnime support team on Discord, who wrote, “All files are taken down by copyright owners. KissManga and KissAnime will be closed forever. Thank you for your supports Thank you for those years”
The website was one of the world’s largest websites for illegal anime streaming and was particularly well known in the English-speaking world. The internet website offered series and films that were stolen from legal providers such as Crunchyroll and Funimation. Manga chapters were published on KissManga without permission.
With the closure of KissAnime and KissManga, Anime lovers would now have to pay for anime content from the likes of Netflix and other video streaming services.
