Appruve, an Africa-focused data verification, and authentication startup has announced its expansion into Egypt and in extension its entry into the MENA region.

Paul Damalie, Founder at Inclusive Innovations Inc, creators of Appruve, said in a blog post announcing the expansion that: “There is a clear opportunity for growth and improvement of financial inclusion in Egypt which the startup is looking to catalyze.

“The Global Findex Data by the World Bank, in 2017 reported that only 33% of adults in Egypt have bank accounts. The gap between women and men who own bank accounts is 12%, while the gap between high net worth individuals and low net worth individuals is 21%.”

According to Damalie, “The entry into Egypt brings the total number of countries the startup is present to five(5), with the others being Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda. This makes the startup one of the most extensive data verification platforms in Africa.

Damalie furthered disclosed that the startup is currently in the beta testing phase with financial services partners in Francophone and Southern Africa.
