Yebo Fresh, a South African food marketplace has raised a Series A funding round to expand its services across the Southern African country.
This undisclosed funding was from Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs (E4E), Mark Forrester, Dale Williams, and the founders of cars.co.za-Ross McIlroy and Alastair MacMurray.
Previously, Yebo Fresh raised its first seed funding from Professor Stefan Allesch Taylor and the second seed funding round in 2019 from Bas Hochsten-bach, Mark Forrester, Neil Watson, and SweepSouth founders Aisha Pandor and Alen Ribic.
Commenting, the founder of Yebo Fresh, Jessica Boonstra Boonstra said that the funding will be used to further build the brand, hire several “superstars”, optimise its systems and processes, and prepare for national expansion.
“We are very excited about the growth and the many learnings we have experienced as a company, especially in a year where there was such little hope due to the pandemic.
“Through the amazing partnerships we have formed this year, we are now able to implement further technology to serve our communities even better,” she said.
