The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that a total of 47.8 million NINs have been collected by the mobile operations.
This was disclosed in a statement by NCC, Director, Public Affairs Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde.
Adinde stated that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami is happy with the progress made in NIN enrollment so far.
The Minister concluded in the release by Adinde by reminding Nigerians to secure and protect their NINs, urging subscribers to desist from selling their NINs or allowing others to use their NINs for registration.
Recall that the Federal Government had ordered all Nigerians to link their SIM to their NIN adding that any line that is not linked by 19th January 2021 (for Nigerians who have NIN) and 9th February 2021 (for Nigerians who do not have SIM) would be disconnected.
