AfriBlocks, a Zimbabwean freelancing site, has been accepted into the Techstars Seattle accelerator programme, gaining access to mentorship, networks, and US$120,000 in funding.
AfriBlocks is a pan-African freelancing marketplace that links users with remote working opportunities and manages the application, hiring, and payment process from start to finish.
The startup has been chosen to participate in the 12th edition of the Techstars Seattle accelerator.
The accelerator program which is part of the global Techstars network.
Techstars is a global network that links entrepreneurs and their teams with other entrepreneurs, experts, mentors, alumni, investors, community leaders, and corporate partners that can help their businesses expand.
AfriBlocks is one of nine startups from around the world participating in the initiative.
The organizers said, “Marketplaces and commerce are a mainstay of Techstars Seattle, and this year we’re excited to welcome AfriBlocks, which makes African freelance talent open to the world.”
