Dream VC is a 4-month long educational summer Venture Capital fellowship programme that is entirely free and fully remote. The programme aims to provide a launchpad for all interested aspiring investors across the continent and beyond to kickstart their journey into venture from 0 to 100.
Dream VC aims to catalyze the next generation of African investors, with a particular focus on homegrown Africans + the diaspora and individuals of diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
Prospective fellows will experience one of the most comprehensive and community-based venture capital fellowships in the world, with material packed within the four months equivalent to the learning gained from a mini-MBA and experiencing real-life VC work similar to that of analysts and associates at top tier VC firms.
Fellows will learn everything from deal sourcing to pipeline building, conducting due diligence, understanding term sheets & drafting investment memos, LP outreach, as well fund economics & the legalities/strategies of establishing a VC fund.
The fellowship will also include exclusive fireside chats and networking sessions with elite VCs, informational workshops, and internal community-building AMAs.
The Dream VC Fellowship programme will launch in mid-June and last until the first week of October, with a time commitment of approximately 20~25 hours per week.
The most outstanding fellows will get an opportunity to join the founding team of an emerging hybrid VC, as well as warm intros and referrals to some of the top VC funds across the continent. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and anticipate to invite successful candidates to their first chat with us within 2-3 weeks upon application submission.
