The Instagram account Adamu Garba has been restored after it was briefly deleted. Earlier today, Garba had posted on his Facebook account that his Instagram account has been disabled.
Media reports confirmed that the account had indeed been deleted. The page @adamugarbaii as at then simply displayed “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”
However, recent checks by Techawk show that the account is back up and has been fully restored. Perhaps the account was taken down by mistake/warning as no particular reason has been given for the removal and restoration.
Garba has been having lots of trouble with tech giants since the Twitter ban in Nigeria. His Instagram ordeal is happening less than 24 hours after his Crowwe App was removed Google Playstore.
Garba has been one of the vocal voices demanding the Nigerian regime led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari to suspend Twitter in the country.
In addition to his call, Garba instituted a $1 billion lawsuit against the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, Jack Dorsey Twitter. The case was brought against Twitter CEO over his alleged role in the #EndSARS protests. He later announced the withdrawal of the case.
When the social messaging app was eventually banned, he marketed and pushed the Crowwe app as a perfect replacement for Twitter. His plan to seize the opportunity failed as members of the Nigerian regime trooped to Indian-owned Koo, an instant messaging app.
As a result, Nigerians descended on the Crowwe app on both Google and Apple Stores to drop unfavourable reviews and reported the app which has now forced Google to remove Crowwe from its store. On the last check, the app had a 1.1 review score.
