Streaming fraud is rampant, and often, artists aren’t to blame. Seeking to reach fans, many artists risk using shady websites that sell plays to obtain their payment information.

These scams claim to help artists hit a million streams but earn them no real fans. As streaming services crack down on fraud to protect their users, artists who have fallen victim to these scams are in danger of being removed from streaming services without gaining the fans they paid to reach.
